The first stores are expected to open their doors this September, and by the end of the year, a network of 20 low-price stores is planned across Lithuania, with 40 next year. Some of them will be established this year in the premises of the closed “Mere” network.

According to the Register Center data, the company “Marytė retail” has a share capital of 1,000.00 Eur, and the company was established on 2026-08-13.

One of the company’s shareholders, holding 51% of the shares since August 13, 2026, is the aforementioned P. Ugianskis. Besides P. Ugianskis, who controls the majority share package, Gediminas Gražulis holds 49% of the shares.

EIM states that it is monitoring and analyzing the situation related to the “Mere” retail network.

“Lithuania is open to investments and competition, but our expectation is clear – businesses operating here must be not only legal and transparent but also responsible, adhering to the principles of democratic states. This also means a clear position – there should be no place in Lithuania for business models that directly or indirectly finance aggressor regimes or other criminal activities,” commented EIM.

However, P. Ugianskis, speaking to 15min, denied any connections with “Mere”.
