Ilona Aksenavičienė (Kalsevičiūtė) was born on December 16, 1966, in Prienai, to the family of Jonas and Marija Kalsevičius. Already in the first grade, Ilona encountered dance at the ballet studio operating in the Prienai Culture House, led by Raimundas Markūnas. And dance accompanied Ilona throughout her life, as a natural oasis of her self-expression and joy of movement, where she felt safe and happy, giving this feeling to hundreds of people of various ages.

After graduating from Prienai II Secondary School, she enrolled in the Lithuanian Conservatory (Klaipėda faculties). She obtained the qualification of a dance group leader.

After her studies, she worked all the time in her specialty – as a choreography teacher at Prienai “Žiburys” Gymnasium, Kaunas modeling agency “Supermodels,” Klaipėda “Žemyna” Gymnasium, Birštonas Culture and Leisure Center, and Prienai Culture and Leisure Center.

In 1993, together with her husband Džordan, she founded the sports dance studio “Solo,” which later became a studio of the Prienai Culture and Leisure Center, organizing the Republican contemporary dance group competitive festival “Moving Colors.”

Ilona worked not only with children’s groups but also led women’s line dance groups. Since 2025, she worked as a choreographer at the Išlaužas Leisure Hall and Veiveriai Culture and Leisure Center.

Energetic and always on time, Ilona participated in the “Lithuanian Lady 2010” contest and surpassed all contestants with her charm, great mood, and cleverness. She did not overemphasize this achievement – “my greatest title is three daughters, a son, and a husband.” In 1992, in the “Missis Lithuania” contest, Ilona became the second Vice Miss and Miss Dancer. Her favorite saying “we live only once” was reflected in her activities, ideas, and relationships with people.

Full of joy and energy for life, Ilona could brighten even the grayest day with her temperament. This autumn we greet with sadness but are grateful that we had the opportunity to know and be close to an extraordinarily talented, sincere, open, and friendly colleague.

Thank you, Ilona. Rest in peace. And may the Lord smile upon you.

We express our sincere condolences to Ilona’s husband Džordan, son Mantas, daughters Paulina, Kotryna, Ūla, and all relatives, colleagues, and fellow travelers who knew her,” – reads the “In memoriam” published by the Prienai Culture and Leisure Center.
