Animals observed in the water and on the shore are dead, as evidenced by numerous reports with photos on social networks. People wonder why there are so many jellyfish here, ask if they are dangerous, and why they die.
Specialists say these are eared jellyfish living in the Baltic Sea.
“Eared jellyfish live in the Baltic Sea, they are not dangerous to humans,” the Coastal Regional Park statement says.
According to it, jellyfish on the shore are a common, natural phenomenon and there is nothing tragic about them being washed ashore and dying.

“They die both on the shore and not on it, they are not counted for a long life, this is just one of the two life stages of the benthic organism, whose purpose is to spread reproductive products away from the mother, sedentary, bottom-dwelling, attached polyp. Once this is done, the jellyfish’s life ends, it has completed its mission,” the park post explains.

Eared jellyfish appear annually on the Baltic coast around the same time of year.
