In an interview with the publication “Postimees,” R. Saksas shared his insights on the visit of the head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to Moscow and the biggest challenges facing the Ukrainian and Russian militaries.
– During this war air operations have rapidly advanced. However, now, unfortunately, both Ukraine and Russia are facing air defense problems. Why?
– If we look at the entire period, the first two years of the Ukraine war were dominated by the old paradigm, and around 2024 a revolution occurred – drone production became mass-scale, their flight range increased, and the cost became relatively low.

Previously, mostly expensive missiles were produced, which not every country could afford to purchase in large quantities, and only expensive and relatively exclusive air defense could be developed against them.
