The age no human will reach has been revealed – even with the best treatments

According to a study cited by the Daily Mail, the main cause of aging is somatic mutations – errors accumulating in DNA over time. Each time the body’s cells divide, small changes can occur in the genetic material. Although the body is able to correct most of these errors, this system is not perfect, so genetic damage inevitably accumulates throughout life.

Scientists have calculated the theoretical maximum human lifespan, assuming that all age-related diseases and other causes of death could be completely eliminated. In such a case, the human lifespan would range from 150 to 190 years. This significantly exceeds the current average lifespan in developed countries, but at the same time confirms that a biological limit still exists.

Theoretical models show that for organisms with exceptionally resilient genetics, the absolute upper limit of lifespan could reach as much as 627 years. However, according to researchers, this would be an extremely unlikely exception, with no practical significance in predicting the actual human lifespan.

According to scientists, the reason why eternal life remains unattainable lies in the body’s limited ability to regenerate. Although cells constantly detect and repair genetic damage, over time the number of errors becomes too large. Once a critical threshold is exceeded, mutations begin to disrupt the normal functioning of tissues, which can lead to the failure of vital organs.

Heart and brain cells are among the most vulnerable in this process. Unlike skin and liver cells, which regenerate quite actively throughout life, heart and brain cells regenerate very slowly. As a result, significantly more genetic damage accumulates in them over decades.

The study authors state that the results show that even the most effective anti-aging treatments may not be able to overcome biological limits. They can extend healthy lifespan and slow down the aging process, but they cannot make a person immortal.

According to Medical News Today, American technology billionaire Bryan Johnson has also received significant attention in recent years, investing more than $2 million annually in experimental anti-aging treatments. However, the new study shows that even the most ambitious experiments can only help improve quality of life and extend lifespan up to a certain limit – it will not be possible to transcend human biological capabilities.
