According to the organizers, it is expected that nearly 10 thousand cycling enthusiasts will gather at the event this year.
“We want people to come to the ‘Velomarathon’ not only to start but also to spend the whole day together here. It is a celebration where not only the finish line is important, but also the presence, movement, and community,” say the organizers.
Professional and amateur cyclists as well as children will test their strength at the event.
Scooter, skateboard, and roller skate enthusiasts will also take to the track, and in the event village there will be quizzes, educational activities, entertainment for children, bicycle acrobat performances, and a musical program.
Due to the ‘Velomarathon,’ traffic will be restricted in the central part of the capital on Sunday from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Participants will start at Independence Square and ride along Gediminas Avenue, Šventaragis, Arsenalas, Žvejų, and Upės streets, across the Žvėrynas bridge and A. Goštautas street.

Entry to the central part of the city will be possible via Geležinio Vilko and A. Goštautas streets, exit – via Lukiškės street.
Additional traffic restrictions on the part of Gediminas Avenue from A. Goštautas to Gynėjų street will be in effect from Saturday 9 a.m. to Sunday 10 p.m., and on the part of A. Mickevičius street from A. Goštautas to Vytautas street – from Saturday 6 p.m. to Sunday 10 p.m.
Also, from 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., some bus and trolleybus routes and their schedules will change; some routes will be shortened or temporarily suspended.
