The construction of the project worth 26 million euros is planned to be completed in the second quarter of 2027, after which the installation and testing of the data center’s engineering and IT infrastructure systems will begin. The completion of these works is scheduled for the end of 2028, when the new “Telia” data center will be ready to receive its first customers.
According to Vygintas Domarkas, Head of Technology and Digital Transformation at “Telia”, the new data center is being created taking into account the rapidly growing data processing needs.
“As the demand for computing power grows, data centers become one of the factors driving economic growth, similar to energy or transport networks. By building a new data center, we are not only increasing our capacities but also creating a foundation for future technologies that will require more and more data processing, storage, and reliable connectivity,” says V. Domarkas.
The new data center will become the third “Telia” data center in Lithuania and will significantly strengthen the company’s and the country’s digital infrastructure capacities. Currently, “Telia” operates about 2 MW of total data center infrastructure capacity in Lithuania. The center being built in Raisteniškės is designed for an initial capacity of 2 MW, so the company’s data center capacities will double.

The project also provides the possibility to increase the center’s capacity to 8 MW in the future. Currently, the total capacity of data centers operating in Lithuania is about 12 MW, so the new “Telia” facility will become one of the largest investments in this type of infrastructure in the country and will significantly contribute to the development of the data center market.
Ernestas Šeženis, head of the general contractor “Conres”, states that the topping out ceremony marks the end of one of the most important stages of the project.
According to him, more than 1,200 reinforced concrete structures have already been installed during the construction of the facility, of which 108 are columns, and the total amount of concrete used exceeded 900 cubic meters.
