The 24-year-old from Marijampolė has represented his hometown club since 2022. In the Top League, the defender has scored 2 goals and made 6 assists in over 120 matches.

Usually, Ž. Baltrūnas plays as a full-back, but recently, due to injuries among teammates, he has been occupying the center-back position.
This year will be unforgettable for the footballer also because of his debut in the Lithuanian national team. At the end of March, Ž. Baltrūnas took the field in national team jerseys during matches against Moldova and Georgia.
“I am very happy to have extended my contract with my hometown club. Everything suits me here: the conditions are good, my family is here,” said Ž. Baltrūnas. “At the moment, I’m not really thinking about other or further years; all my thoughts are focused on this season. We know what we want to achieve as a team, and with each match, step by step, we are moving towards that goal. How it will turn out, we will see only at the end of the season.”
The footballer did not want to set personal goals.
“As a defender, it is hard to define personal goals or certain numbers, so I will stick to the overall team goal – to bring European cup tournaments back to Marijampolė,” said Ž. Baltrūnas.
In the Top League, “Sūduva” has 42 points after 23 matches and holds first place. The next match for the Marijampolė team will be on August 30 at 5 p.m. away against “Šiauliai.”
