Erikson worked for about a decade in the field of technology and innovation business consulting before joining the Prime Minister’s team: as a project manager at the Lithuanian Innovation Center, and as a consultant at the Vilnius Municipality’s business infrastructure development and consulting institution “Northtown Vilnius”.

Previously, he worked as a “Deep-Tech” ecosystem development consultant at the Association of Research and Technology Organizations (RTO.LT), which aims to commercialize scientific knowledge, and before that as a project development manager at the Center for Physical and Technological Sciences.

Having earned his doctorate at the University of Aberdeen in the UK, L. Erikson told 15min that he started working in M. Sinkevičius’s team on Monday.

He spoke about what he will do, what the short-term and long-term goals will be, as well as what led him to the position of the Prime Minister’s advisor.

The key areas where he promises his assistance are the adaptation of the upcoming European directive defining AI for Lithuania, as well as the development of Lithuania’s national AI infrastructure.
