Seimas is inclined to oblige independent electricity suppliers to terminate certain contracts

According to the new regulation, if the public tariff is at least one cent lower than that of an independent supplier, the latter would be required to inform the customer and, with their consent, terminate the contract.

It is also proposed to introduce a “silent consent” model: if the user does not express disagreement within the set deadline, the supplier would still unilaterally terminate the contract.
