This year’s Klaipėda Lyceum graduates share their stories and reveal what truly helped them achieve exceptional academic success, according to a press release.

Behind the highest results – teachers
Smiltė Lajauskytė, who scored five perfect scores in biology, chemistry, history, advanced Lithuanian language and literature, and mathematics state matriculation exams, says that she was interested in a wide variety of fields at school – from biology to history. Nevertheless, she chose to study medicine – a specialty she had dreamed of for several years.
Although she had to study a lot independently while preparing for the exams, according to her, the greatest influence on the achieved results was the teachers and their lessons.
“Teachers looked at each student individually and always found time to talk. They were interested not only in our studies but also in our lives, future plans, and motivated us. It was very clear that they truly cared about us. That care was sincere,” says Smiltė.
The support of classmates was no less important. A group of like-minded people formed at school, with whom it was possible to prepare for exams together, share anxieties, and celebrate achievements.
“It was even easier to go to exams together because you knew you weren’t alone and had people going through the same thing,” she shares.
According to Smiltė, a responsible approach to learning, focused preparation, and continuous solving of various types of tasks allowed her to feel calm and confident during the exams.
When success becomes the story of the entire community
Eva Čebatoriūtė, who passed the state matriculation exams in biology, chemistry, advanced Lithuanian language and literature, and mathematics with four perfect scores, admits that although she prepared for the exams purposefully and consistently, such high results still pleasantly surprised her.
Currently, she is mostly considering medical studies in Lithuania. According to the graduate, her success was contributed to not only by responsible independent work but also by the strong academic foundation provided by teachers and continuous support.
However, the greatest value she takes away from school is the people.
“After graduating from school, I take with me friendships, fellowship with people who also pursued their goals, thought a lot about their studies, but always found time to socialize. It was very pleasant,” says E. Čebatoriūtė.
Results that speak for themselves
The personal stories of the graduates reflect the overall results of Klaipėda Lyceum. As every year, high academic achievements here are not isolated success stories – they are the result of purposeful work, professional teachers, high academic standards, and a consistent educational system.
The average score of all state matriculation exams taken by Klaipėda Lyceum graduates is 80 points. As every year, some of the highest results were achieved in chemistry, biology, and mathematics state matriculation exams – the average for chemistry was 97.63 points, for biology – 91.60 points, and for mathematics – 81.83 points.

International Baccalaureate – preparation for studies and life
Liepa Aleknavičiūtė completed the International Baccalaureate program at Klaipėda Lyceum. In mathematics, English language, biology, and history exams, she achieved the highest score – 7 out of 7 points.
The graduate says that she chose the International Baccalaureate program with studies abroad in mind. According to her, this program not only helped her successfully prepare for admission to her chosen university and further strengthen her English language skills but also developed abilities that are important for life – independence, responsibility, critical thinking, and effective time management.
Long-term research papers, projects, and consistent academic preparation significantly contributed to this.
“Although a lot of responsibility in the International Baccalaureate program falls on the student, the teacher becomes like a coordinator. They help organize information, understand what to pay attention to, and better assimilate learning material. Such support was very important,” says Liepa.
In autumn, she will begin her studies in the Netherlands, having chosen the Liberal Arts and Sciences study program.

The International Baccalaureate diploma is recognized worldwide, and when applying to Lithuanian higher education institutions, the results conversion system ensures transparent and equal recognition.
This year, students from not only Lithuania but also from the United States, England, Iceland, India, and Belarus completed the International Baccalaureate program at Klaipėda Lyceum.

This year’s stories of Klaipėda Lyceum graduates once again confirm that exceptional academic achievements are not a coincidence. They are born where high expectations align with genuine care for each student, professional teachers, and a community that inspires to achieve more.
Five and four perfect scores, the highest International Baccalaureate evaluations, and broad study opportunities in Lithuania and abroad testify not only to individual success stories. This is the result of a consistent educational system, a strong academic culture, and belief in the potential of every student.
At Klaipėda Lyceum, educational success is measured not only by exam scores. The most important thing is to raise curious, responsible, critically thinking young people who bravely choose their own path and are ready to successfully create their future.
