28-year-old M. Juzeliūnas has worked at Kėdainiai “Nevėžis” for the past four years. He was an assistant coach for a long time, and at the end of the 2025-2026 season, after the team parted ways with Laimonas Eglinskas, he became the head coach.

Besides M. Juzeliūnas, the “Rytas” coaching staff also includes Finnish Vesa Vertio, who remained after last season.
According to “BasketNews,” among the candidates to join the capital club’s staff was Martynas Gecevičius, who played for “Rytas” for several seasons (2007-2011, 2013-2015) and won numerous titles with the club.
Last season, “Rytas” was coached by Giedrius Žibėnas, but this specialist was dismissed after a failure in the Lithuanian Basketball League quarterfinals.

After a long search for a new strategist, N. Pacevičius, who had previously assisted G. Žibėnas, was appointed.
“Rytas” also said goodbye this summer to Gustas Maskoliūnas, who helped G. Žibėnas for many years.
