So the Gulfstream G700 improved the result of the Canadian company Bombardier’s Global 8000 aircraft by 19 minutes. Interestingly, the previous record was set just a few weeks ago when the Global 8000 completed this route in 8 hours and 46 minutes.

Bombardier noted that the crew flew the flight under unfavorable tailwind conditions. Meanwhile, Gulfstream did not provide detailed data about the weather conditions.
The Global 8000 officially reaches a higher maximum speed than the G700: M = 0.95 (about 1010 km/h) versus M = 0.935 (about 990 km/h). However, in practice, it was the Gulfstream aircraft that proved to be faster on the specified route.

Besides speed, both aircraft feature a long flight range. The G700’s flight range is 7,750 nautical miles (about 14,350 km), while the Global 8000’s is approximately 14,800 km.
Experts note that the competition among the largest business jet manufacturers for speed records is becoming increasingly intense. It seems this is far from the last change of leader.
