The club’s general secretary Ayaz Shigri later confirmed to AFP news agency that the bodies of N. Purja and three other people were found during a high-altitude rescue operation complicated by poor weather conditions.

An avalanche occurred on Thursday; at that time, contact was lost with a 10-member international expedition led by 43-year-old British-Nepali climber N. Purja.

His expedition company confirmed on Saturday that no team members survived.

Regional officials reported that the bodies of three climbers – an Omani citizen, a Nepali, and an American woman – were recovered on Friday and flown to the city of Skardu.
