Over the weekend at the legendary Spa–Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the 22-year-old athlete, together with his teammate Frenchman Jordan Meyer (from the Pegasus Racing team), secured first place in the JS2R car class and took the lead in the overall standings.

The weather conditions in Belgium were not favorable for the athletes: the changeable weather, for which Spa–Francorchamps is famous, posed challenges already during qualifying, and the second race was even postponed due to thick fog covering part of the track. Despite this, the Lithuanian and French crew demonstrated an exceptional pace.
In the first, hour-long race on Saturday, K. Vingilis and J. Meyer, starting from only the eighth position, managed to overtake rivals and secured first place. In the second race on Sunday, the team again showed a series of overtakes: although they started from the last position, the racers managed to climb to third place and stand on the podium.
“The main decisive factor for the victory was maintaining an excellent pace. During the second race, we were the fastest on the track, so we could catch up and overtake competitors. Moreover, this was my second time racing on this track, which helped me quickly get into rhythm and maintain good speed,” shared the Lithuanian.
This stage was the last for the Lithuanian in the Ligier European Series calendar this season. Throughout the season, he represented the French Pegasus Racing team.

The Spa–Francorchamps circuit is one of the most famous and challenging in the world, often called one of the most beautiful and receiving huge admiration from both drivers and motorsport fans. It hosts Formula 1 and other top-level global motorsport events.
This year’s six-stage championship Ligier European Series calendar included the most famous and prestigious European tracks: Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, France’s Circuit Paul Ricard (Le Castellet) and the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans), the mentioned Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom, and Portugal’s Algarve International Circuit (Portimao).
In these races, competition takes place in two separate car classes – the JS2 R and JS P4 prototype groups.
