She announced this after the portal “15min” reported that responsible institutions are currently investigating the circumstances of possible intrusions into the accounts of 50 employees in information systems subordinate to the Ministry of Interior.
V. Kondratovičius could not confirm this information to the portal, but stated that residents’ biometric data had not been leaked during the intrusions. Last week, he stated that during the hacking of the Register Center’s systems, the login data of two employees of the Migration Department were stolen.
According to “15min”, information about the intrusion into several dozen accounts of the Ministry of Interior’s information systems might have been known to the ministry’s leadership as early as the beginning of May.
The Prime Minister instructed Minister of National Defence Robertas Kaunas, together with the head of the National Cyber Security Centre, to collect all information about the incident, assess how supervision was carried out, determine responsibilities, and take urgent measures to prevent such cases from recurring.
