“Currently, the damage caused by the storm is being assessed, and just like other European Union countries affected by the consequences of climate change – as we know, this summer there were many fires and droughts in Southern Europe – there is a mechanism through which one can appeal to the European Commission for such natural disasters. And this measure must be utilized,” the advisor said to journalists on Tuesday after the meeting between President Gitanas Nausėda and Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius.
“It is definitely logical to use all opportunities, to use EC funds allocated to eliminate the consequences of such disasters,” he asserted.
