“I thank the SBU operational officers, National Police officers, investigators, and prosecutors for their professional and coordinated work,” said Prosecutor General R. Kravchenko.

According to him, urgent investigative and procedural actions are currently being carried out in the case. Law enforcement officers are collecting new evidence, determining all the circumstances of the attempt, clarifying the role of each participant, and seeking to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Prosecutor General assured that no evidence “will go unnoticed during the investigation.”

On the evening of June 29, an explosion occurred in Monaco, injuring businessman V. Yermolayev, who is included in the Ukrainian sanctions list, and his family members.

According to the investigation data, a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman, Anastasia Berezovskaya, may be involved in the installation of the explosive device used in the attempt on V. Yermolayev. On July 3, Interpol announced her international search, but on July 7, the woman was found murdered near Kyiv.

In the case of A. Berezovskaya’s murder, suspects include Ukrainian military intelligence officer Vladyslav Reut and former Ukrainian Security Service officer Vitaliy Zhykovych.

The court has already imposed a preventive measure on both – detention without the right to bail.

According to investigators, the organizers of the terrorist attack in Monaco are precisely these two men, who supervised A. Berezovskaya’s actions and were later declared suspects in her murder.

According to the suspects, the woman, whom investigators consider the direct perpetrator of the attempt on V. Yermolayev, lived in Germany for several years with her son, having refugee status.

One of the motives for her participation in the operation, according to V. Reut and V. Zhykovych, was money – allegedly A. Berezovskaya hoped to earn money to buy a house in Ukraine.

The suspects said that her travel, accommodation, car rental, and other expenses were paid for.

They also stated that before carrying out the main task (the attempt on V. Yermolayev – editor’s note), A. Berezovskaya participated in other operations, especially related to blogger Anatoliy Shariy.
