“The Holy Father, deeply saddened to learn the painful news about the earthquake that severely affected several regions of Colombia (…) prays for the eternal repose of the deceased and turns to the Lord with prayers that those affected by this tragedy may recover as soon as possible,” wrote Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin in a letter to Cartagena Archbishop Francisco Javier Munera Correa.
