In the Sejny district, officers detained eight individuals – one Algerian citizen, four Egyptian citizens, and three Eritrean citizens. It was established that they crossed the Poland-Lithuania border violating the applicable regulations.
Another six migrants were detained in the Vižainiai district. Officers together with territorial defense soldiers detained five Somali citizens and one Moroccan citizen.

According to the border guards, all detained foreigners did not have documents granting the right to enter and stay in Polish territory. They were handed over to Lithuanian authorities under the readmission procedure.
According to the Polish Border Guard Service, since the beginning of 2026, Podlaskie border guards have already detained more than 380 individuals who illegally crossed the Lithuania-Poland border.
