On the same day the attack was carried out, the Polish prosecutor’s office qualified this incident as a „terrorist crime“ committed by a „foreign intelligence service“ and related to „intentional arson.“
The company „WB Electronics“, whose factory caught fire last Monday, is one of the largest private defense companies in Poland. It produces drones and ammunition used by Ukraine against the Russian army. The fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no casualties.
The incident in Poland occurred at a time when Russian attacks on facilities related to the production of military equipment for Ukraine are becoming more frequent.
Besides this incident, another fire broke out on Sunday in Poland at a company located in Lublin that manufactures components for the aerospace industry, including parts for airplanes and helicopters.

Earlier in August, there were also reports of an attempted arson at a Ukrainian drone manufacturer’s factory in Slovakia. The police there detained three suspects – two Latvian citizens and a Ukrainian. The investigation found that the criminals planned to start a large-scale fire at the company. After a search, an incendiary mixture and attack plans were found.
At the beginning of August, three drones carrying explosives were spotted in East Germany, at Leipzig-Halle airport and its surroundings, including one drone found near a Ukrainian „Antonov“ aircraft used for transporting weapons.
On Tuesday, Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s government openly accused Russia for the first time of being responsible for this attack and announced retaliatory measures. European Union officials officially supported Germany and called for additional visa restrictions on Russian citizens.
