As a representative of the Situations Coordination Division of the Fire Protection and Rescue Department (PAGD) told 15min, on July 26 at 12:02 p.m. a report was received that a car and a motorcycle collided on the highway towards Panevėžys, on road A8, in Kaunas district, and were burning with open flames.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, both the car and the motorcycle were burning with open flames, and assistance was provided to the two people who were on the motorcycle.
The road was completely closed for some time while the consequences of the incident were being liquidated.
Both people who were on the motorcycle were taken to the hospital. Those in the passenger car were not injured.
As Kaunas County Police clarified to 15min, at about 12:05 p.m. in Gailiušiai village, Kaunas district, an “Audi” car, driven by a man born in 2004, collided with a motorcycle, on which a man born in 1969 and a woman born in 1974 were riding.

The latter were taken to a medical facility due to their injuries. The driver of the motorcycle is being identified.
On Sunday, another serious accident occurred on the “Via Baltica” road, in which a passenger car and a motorcycle also collided.
As Kaunas County Police told 15min, at about 11:20 a.m. in Nociūnai village, Kėdainiai district, a “Renault” car, driven by a man born in 1956, collided with a “Kawasaki” motorcycle, driven by a man born in 1973.
The drivers were taken to a medical facility due to their injuries.
