Last October, the Kaunas District Court sentenced G. Filipavičius to the harshest fixed-term imprisonment of 20 years, finding the man guilty of ten criminal offenses, including child abduction, deprivation of liberty, injury, and possession of weapons.

G. Filipavičius’s responsibility was aggravated by the fact that the crimes were committed against a minor, in an extremely cruel and torturous manner, and the consequences are severe for the girl and her family.
No one appealed this verdict; it has come into force.
While serving his sentence, G. Filipavičius was tried again. In April of this year, the Kaunas District Court announced a verdict in a non-publicly examined case in which G. Filipavičius was accused of raping two women and other crimes.

The convicted man was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison. This sentence was combined with the 20-year imprisonment sentence imposed last year by the Kaunas District Court in the girl’s abduction case. In total, G. Filipavičius should not see freedom for 20 years.

While he is serving his sentence, his property is being sold at auction – cars, a trailer, a motorcycle.
