The renovation of both “Medeina” branches began in the spring of 2025. In just over a year, the existing buildings have fundamentally changed and are now adapted to modern education and the diverse needs of children.

12 primary classes started the new school year on M.Yčo Street. A modern learning environment was prepared for them, with specialist offices, sports, and relaxation zones provided.

The building has become conveniently accessible for people with disabilities, with more attention paid to student safety and comfort.
Practical solutions will also ease the daily lives of children –
height-adjustable furniture, air conditioning systems, and a renovated cafeteria.
The changes were not limited to the interior of the building: the school environment was also improved, creating space for sports and relaxation.
The kindergarten has grown several times over
An even more significant transformation took place on Dvarų Street. Previously, a small kindergarten of just 365 square meters was attended by 60 children, with three groups operating. After reconstruction, the building expanded to nearly 1850 square meters, and the number of groups increased to eleven.
From now on, there will be four nursery groups, six preschool groups, and one pre-primary education group. The significantly enlarged kindergarten will allow more children from Aleksotas to be admitted and offer them an environment adapted for comprehensive education.

Separate areas for activities, play, and rest, a sensory room, and a multipurpose hall for sports and events have been arranged for the little ones. The yard has also changed – colorful playgrounds, gazebos, separate zones for groups, and a dome for various activities have appeared.
“As we begin a new chapter in the history of our institution, we want every child who comes here to feel welcomed, safe, noticed, and important. We want this to be a place for curiosity, creativity, questions, dreams, and even small mistakes from which children learn,” shared Larisa Bukinienė, director of the “Medeina” school-kindergarten.
The first day – with a celebration
The renovated doors of “Medeina” opened on a symbolic day – together with the start of the new school year. The September 1st celebration became the first opportunity for children and their families to get acquainted with the changed environment and jointly mark a new stage of the institution.

From the very first moments, both branches were bustling with festive excitement. Children were greeted by colorful characters, bubble shows, creative activities, and programs specially prepared for the little ones. After the fun, they went with teachers and educators to their new classes and groups.
Expanding the number of educational places aims to ensure that families can find a kindergarten or school closer to home, and children have modern conditions to grow and learn.
