20 ambulances rushed to the accident site located between the popular tourist cities of Dahab and Nuweiba on the eastern coast of South Sinai, the ministry said.
Among the victims are 10 people from Jordan, reported the state television of this kingdom.
“Ten Jordanians died when a passenger bus overturned on the Dahab–Nuweiba road in Egypt’s South Sinai governorate,” reported the official Jordanian channel “al Mamlaka.” It was added that a total of 43 people were on the bus, including 22 Jordanians.
Officials said medical assistance is being provided to the injured, but did not disclose the cause of the accident.
This area is a popular tourist destination known for its marine biodiversity, natural beauty, and mountain hiking trails.

Car accidents in Egypt are common. They are mostly blamed on careless driving, poor road maintenance, and improper law enforcement.
Last month, at least 18 people, many of them teenagers, died in northern Egypt when two pickups carrying agricultural day laborers collided.
According to Egypt’s state statistics agency, nearly 6,000 people died in traffic accidents across the country last year.
