“Guess to sign a contract for profitable positions with a one-time payment before the start of mobilization processes,” the ads state.
They also emphasize that “the number of places is limited”.
When calling one of the listed phone numbers, a “Viorstka” journalist was offered to sign a one-year “special contract” with the Russian Ministry of Defense to protect “Wildberries” warehouses from possible drone attacks.
“Healthy, previously unconvicted, very agile guys up to 40 years old are needed,” the recruiter explained over the phone. He assured that those who sign the contract will not be sent to the war in Ukraine.
Another recruiter repeated the same.
“We need to ensure rear security here. Everything burns here every other day. And everyone somehow fears joining assault units. We have nothing to do with that and will not send you there,” he explained.
As “Viorstka” found out, the contract signing procedure itself is completely identical to what is offered to those going to war. First, the candidate must send the required documents, then he is sent to Tula for training. Those who sign the contract are promised a one-time payment of 3.1 million rubles (31.4 thousand euros).
“Viorstka” sources related to war recruitment noted that offers to take security guard jobs at “Wildberries” and “Ozon” warehouses are used as “bait” to recruit contract soldiers.

According to them, the “Avito” portal strictly moderates the topic “special military operation,” so ad authors look for “masked formulations”.
“This is a typical case of deception, there are currently no new procedures,” commented a source from the Moscow mayor’s office.
Previously, Russians were lured into the war by offering jobs in Belarus and China, saying they would be drivers for humanitarian missions and, in a sense, “peacekeepers.” It was noted that the number of such ads increased after the pace of recruiting new soldiers slowed down.
According to Janis Kluge, an expert at the German Institute for International Security Affairs, about 172 thousand people were recruited into the Russian army in the first half of the year, which is 19 thousand or 10% less than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, as previously indicated by sources of the “Financial Times” newspaper, the Kremlin set a goal to recruit 409 thousand contract soldiers into its forces this year.
