Tele2 innovation expert Arnoldas Lukošius says that when traveling, it is most important to think in advance about four things – power reserve, convenient charging, connectivity, and device protection.
“On a trip, technology often becomes a practical tool for safety and convenience. A dead phone at the airport, headphones not working on a long flight, or a forgotten charging cable can ruin even a well-planned trip. Therefore, before traveling, it is worth preparing a small technology kit – a few accessories that will help you stay reachable, use navigation, safely store tickets on your phone, and calmly handle unexpected situations,” says A. Lukošius.
The most important thing – power reserve
One of the most important travel accessories is an external battery. It comes in handy at airports, longer excursions, hikes, and in cases when maps, cameras, translation apps, or mobile data are used all day long.
For example, you can find external batteries of different capacities: the Xiaomi USB-C 33 W 20000 mAh external battery with an integrated cable, the Samsung 10000 mAh 25 W external battery, or the compact 3mk MagSnap Go 5000 mAh model. Batteries are recommended to be chosen according to the nature of the planned trip: a smaller battery may be enough for a weekend trip, while a larger capacity is advisable for a longer trip or active rest.
“When choosing an external battery, it is important to look not only at capacity but also at the ports and charging power. If you use several devices on the trip – phone, headphones, watch, or tablet – it is more convenient to choose a battery with multiple ports or an integrated cable. It should be fully charged before the trip, and when flying, check the airline rules regarding carrying batteries in hand luggage,” reminds A. Lukošius.
Headphones, watch, and chargers save time
Wireless headphones are also useful on a trip – they allow you to travel more peacefully by plane or bus, conveniently listen to navigation instructions in the city, audio guides, or quickly answer a call. Among the recommended headphones, it is worth paying attention to models such as Xiaomi Redmi 8 Active, Samsung Galaxy Buds3 FE, JBL Tune 780 NC, or Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Lite.
Another practical accessory is a smart watch or bracelet. Such devices allow you to quickly see notifications, track activity, steps, pulse, or workouts while traveling, and some LTE models allow you to stay reachable even when you cannot hold the phone in your hand. You can find Samsung Galaxy Watch8 LTE, Huawei Watch 5 LTE, Huawei Watch Fit 5, and Xiaomi Smart Band 10.

Charging accessories are no less important. On a trip, it is worth having not only the main phone charger but also a longer cable, a solution supporting multiple devices, or a car charger if you plan to travel by car. 3mk 3in1 cable, 3mk 45 W car charger, Xiaomi Type-A + Type-C 33 W charger, and many other accessories.
“A cable or charger may seem like a small thing, but such accessories often become critically important on a trip. If several people use one charger, charging devices becomes a constant coordination. Therefore, it is worth having at least one extra cable, a multi-port charger, or a car charger – especially if you move a lot during the trip and devices are charged in short intervals,” says the Tele2 innovation expert.
Protection is as important as convenience
On trips, devices end up with us in various places – on the beach, by the pool, in a backpack hiking in the mountains, or on a restaurant table. Therefore, it is worth taking care in advance of a protective phone case, screen protection, and when planning time near water – a waterproof case.
A. Lukošius advises checking not only the equipment but also the phone settings before the trip: enable device search function, update important apps, take care of screen lock and two-factor authentication.
“Device protection on a trip is both physical and digital. It is equally important to ensure that if the phone is lost, it can be found remotely, locked, or data erased. On a trip, we often keep tickets, reservations, banking apps, and personal photos on the phone, so it is necessary to protect not only the device itself but also the information stored on it,” he says.
According to the expert, the goal of the technology kit is not to add as many items as possible. The most important thing is a few reliable accessories that will help avoid stress while traveling: a charged phone, working connection, comfortable headphones, a suitable cable, and a protected device.
