Donald Trump suddenly appeared with darker hair. Last Friday, stepping off a plane in New Jersey, the US president showed off his new look for the first time. The photo online sparked a lot of reactions, speculations, and comparisons.

“So youthful. Like Pierce Brosnan”
“I like it. So youthful. Just like Pierce Brosnan,” wrote one US author about the new look. Last week Alain Berset was already compared to former James Bond actor Sean Connery, and now Trump has received similar comparisons.
One user on platform X commented: “Summer is almost over – a great time to switch from bleached platinum blonde to brunette.” And one lawyer and well-known Trump critic stated: “Action should be taken regarding his hair based on the 25th Amendment.”
In short, reactions are very mixed. But what does a hair specialist think about the new look? The publication asked Thomas Neidhart, owner of “The Colorist” Meilene and a hair stylist.
Did Trump dye his hair himself?
“Compared to the previous very yellow blonde color, this is an improvement in any case,” says the hairdresser. “The shade looks a bit more natural, but still not perfect. It looks faded and uneven – as if an intense toning product or foam dye was used, applied one time too many.”
Neidhart adds: “Judging by how it looks, I could even imagine that Trump took care of the dyeing himself.”
According to him, the darker tone can also cause new challenges. “White roots will definitely be more visible faster. The contrast will be greater than with his usual light look.”
The hairdresser thinks Trump might have tried to get closer to the natural hair color of youth – a darker light color with a slight reddish tint: “But now the tone looks much cooler.”

Dark hair quickly looks severe
However, according to the hairdresser, the darker hair color has a problem: “Many forget that the skin also changes with age. It becomes thinner, blood vessels show through much more, the skin looks more translucent. If then the hair is dyed darker – even if it is the same shade the person had at twenty – the look quickly becomes very severe.”
Therefore, for older clients, Neidhart often advises choosing a slightly lighter tone.
Regarding rumors that Trump wears a wig or hairpieces, Neidhart, at least judging by the latest photos, does not believe it.
“I would say these are his real hairs. Whether any hair procedure was done before, I cannot say,” he said.
How the Swiss hairdresser would style Trump’s haircut
Regarding hair color, the specialist would have a completely different recommendation for the US president: “I would advise him to finally stop dyeing his hair. He should just wear his white hair and take care of a good haircut.”
What could such a haircut look like?
“I would remove the thin strands that hang at the back and sometimes flutter in the wind in photos. The hair on top can be left a bit longer, and around the ears and sides shortened – this would give the look more shape,” explained Neidhart.
