Paramedics found a dead 29-year-old basketball player on the evening of May 11 in the San Fernando area of California. According to initial reports, “drug use paraphernalia” was found at the scene, and the investigation focused on a possible overdose.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiners has now publicly announced the conclusion reached, that the cause of death was accidental and caused by the “effects of heroin and cocaine.” The full investigation material with specific conclusions is expected to be published later.
