Minister of Transport: up to 150 million euros expected to be collected from e-fee next year

„We estimate between 125–150 million. Currently, about 70 million is collected from vignettes. However, again, it will greatly depend on how the entire transport sector and logistics look. We also depend on the geopolitical situation, on the same fuel shortage and price increases. It is difficult to say how the whole situation will look from January next year,“ J. Taminskas told Žinių radijas on Thursday.

The minister emphasized that the fee paid by carriers will depend on the kilometers driven, and the money from the e-toll will be allocated for road maintenance.

„This is a system that will ensure that the fee for road use by heavy transport is fully collected into the road fund. And those who cause more damage (to roads – BNS) will also pay more. The more you drive, the more you damage, the more you break, the more you pollute, because one of the components is CO2, so you will pay more accordingly into the budget,“ explained J. Taminskas.
