“The situation regarding the storm remains very complicated. This afternoon, the first customers will reach 72 hours without electricity. I fully understand that the compensation provided by law alone will not cover the losses and hardships experienced by people. Therefore, additional compensation of up to 200 euros must be allocated to residents for the losses incurred,” the minister announced on Facebook.

He said he expressed to the ESO director the expectation that the company would announce a decision regarding the procedure for compensating direct losses.
“It must provide for compensation of reasonable losses due to spoiled food, temporary accommodation, purchase or rental of generators, fuel, and other necessary expenses. The company has already applied such a model before, and I am convinced that it should be repeated after this storm,” said L. Savickas.

“ESO director Renaldas Radvila assured that the company will provide clear information to residents today: who will be responsible for compensating losses, what documents will need to be submitted, and how to apply,” he added.
