According to the publication, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked US President Donald Trump during a meeting to contact E. Musk, whose company SpaceX operates the Starlink satellite system.

Ukraine would like to use this system for strikes against Russian missile batteries that shell Kyiv and other cities. D. Trump did not give a clear answer regarding such a request.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov is also trying to communicate with E. Musk through unofficial channels.
“At the moment, there is no positive decision,” one of M. Fedorov’s associates told The Atlantic.
According to sources, E. Musk bases his position on fear of possible further escalation of the war.

“Elon constantly repeats that the time has come to make a deal,” said one of M. Fedorov’s comrades.
This news appeared at a time when Kyiv is seeking additional US military aid. The media previously reported that D. Trump rejected V. Zelensky’s request to allocate several hundred more Patriot missile interceptors before winter.
The US president also stated in July that Ukraine could be granted the right to produce Patriots, but later said he had not yet decided on the production of Patriot missile interceptors and emphasized that Washington “must be very careful” on this issue.
