In the second attempt, E. Matusevičius threw the javelin 80.60 m and rose to 5th place in the overall standings.
The third throw by the Lithuanian was worse (78.60 m), and in the overall standings, the Vilnius native dropped back to 6th place.
In the fourth series of throws, the Lithuanian achieved his best result (81.07 m), but it did not allow him to move up in the overall ranking.
E. Matusevičius was unable to improve his result again. In the fifth attempt, he recorded a result of 79.53 m, and in the sixth – 80.02 m.
In the qualifying competition on Thursday, the Vilnius native threw the implement 80.89 m with his best attempt.

E. Matusevičius’s career record is 89.17 m, and his best result this season is 83.65 m.
The 2026 European champion title went to the German Julian Weber, who threw the javelin 90.40 m on his last attempt, pushing the compatriot Nick Thumma, who improved his personal record (83.76 m), to second place.
The bronze was won by Latvian Patriks Gailums (82.97), just one centimeter ahead of the Polish Dawid Wegner (82.96 cm), who remained outside the top three.
Czech Jakub Vadlejch (82.88 m) slipped between the top four and E. Matusevičius.
