Matjošaitytė will be invited to explain herself in the Seimas, but not immediately: the opposition sees a behind-the-scenes plan by the ruling party

L. Matjošaitytė faced criticism after it was revealed that, while being a lawyer, she provided consultations to the party “Nemuno aušra” and tried to conceal it. This was reported on Monday by the news portal “Delfi”.

Although most opposition and ruling party representatives agree that L. Matjošaitytė should resign from her position at the VRK, the ruling party tends to wait for her own decision before taking initiatives in the Seimas.

J. Olekas insists that L. Matjošaitytė needs more time to prepare responses, but the opposition says that such delay is not accidental, claiming the ruling party does not want to disrupt the LRT council meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

At that meeting, it will be decided whether to recognize LRT General Director M. Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė as having committed a violation regarding undisclosed data about individuals from whom the institution purchased services.

The opposition proposed to summon L. Matjošaitytė to the Seimas precisely on Tuesday, when the LRT council meeting is scheduled for the whole day.
