He made this statement on September 17 at the forum “Youth. Belarus. Future” held in Minsk, dedicated to the National Unity Day, reports the portal “Zerkalo”.

A. Lukashenko urged from the podium to “never believe those who say” that he holds power “with blue fingers.”

“Let them say whatever they want. I have had enough of this power. The only question is: are you capable today of taking over the country and maintaining it? If you are capable – then take over [the country] tomorrow. To be honest, I cannot answer this question positively yet. Don’t be offended,” said A. Lukashenko.

Previously, A. Lukashenko has repeatedly stated that he is already “sick to death” of power and that he will not cling to the post “with blue fingers” if the nation no longer trusts him.

Back in July 2020, he said that he has already “paid his dues” and “bit off the president’s share,” and that he participates in the election campaign not because he is clinging to the chair “with blue fingers.”
