Luigi Mangione admitted to shooting the UnitedHealthcare executive

28-year-old L. Mangione is suspected of shooting the 50-year-old UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024, protesting against the US insurance system.

“On the morning of December 4, I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan and he died,” L. Mangione told the federal judge when pleading guilty to stalking the victim.
