Before starting his career in Europe, the American represented Iowa State University in the NCAA, which competes in one of the strongest US college conferences – the Big 12. In his second season, Donovan averaged 15 points and 2.1 assists in the college league, shooting an impressive 40 percent from beyond the arc.
The guard had his best season in Europe in 2020-2021, wearing the Polski Cukier Toruń jersey in the Polish championship. That season, he averaged 18.3 points and 4.3 assists, shooting 41.1 percent from three-point range and was the team’s top scorer.

In his last season in Europe, the American played for the Greek top league club Kolossos Rhodes. Over five games, he averaged 7.8 points, 1.4 assists, and shot 39.1 percent from three-point range. In the final game of the season against Thessaloniki’s Aris team, Jackson scored 30 points, hitting 6 three-pointers out of 12 attempts.
