From July 20-26, the average wholesale electricity price in the Lithuanian price zone of the “Nord Pool” exchange decreased by 25 percent to 75 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh). In Latvia, the price was the same, in Estonia – 49 euros, “Litgrid” announced on Monday.

Deividas Šikšnys, head of “Litgrid”‘s Market Development Department, says that last week electricity prices in the Baltic States decreased due to increased wind power generation in Finland and Sweden over the weekend and a cheaper electricity supply in the region.
