In the season opening program, one of the most prominent choirs of the port city „Aukuras“ will perform, not only classical pieces but also the melodies of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will fill the city space, the autumn colors will be enlivened by the Klaipėda brass quintet. They will be joined by Karlson, inviting to a cheerful educational concert for the whole family. Among musical sounds and melodies – a yet undiscovered format for the Klaipėda concert hall – a live discussion „Why is professional art needed?“.
„It is not theory, but questions that touch everyone: does culture still unite us, who is responsible for it, and why do we sometimes find it easier to choose entertainment elsewhere. Political scientist Rima Urbonaitė, cultural patron Inga Gusiatina, and Deputy Minister of Culture Tomas Juočys will discuss, and the conversation will be moderated by journalist Živilė Kropaitė-Basiulė,“ says Jurgita Skiotytė-Norvaišienė, artistic director of the repertoire.
This Sunday is just the beginning. Throughout the season, the Klaipėda concert hall will invite to be amazed and seek new experiences, which, according to the personalities who perform and create here, will accompany until the end of the season in 2027. „We want the concert hall to be not only a place people come to but also to come into the city itself. Therefore, we invite not only to listen to music but also to be together. This season will be full of strong highlights – a cello festival awaits, soon – „Music of Changes“, and some events are already finding a place in the cultural program of Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council,“ says T. Grabys.
