“Yes,” O. Leiputė told BNS when asked if K. Vaitiekūnas agreed to work as deputy minister.
K. Vaitiekūnas will replace Taurimas Valys, who has served as deputy foreign minister until now and will take over the duties of the finance minister. However, O. Leiputė did not specify which areas K. Vaitiekūnas will oversee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The area of oversight has not been discussed because the ministry will review the areas of oversight. (…) We will still talk with the minister (K. Vaitiekūnas – BNS). Since the minister is on the plane, we have not fully discussed it yet, but what is necessary will be selected,” O. Leiputė said.
BNS wrote that last week President Gitanas Nausėda approved the composition of the new Government submitted by M. Sinkevičius.
