On the air of „Radio NV“ he answered the question whether Ukraine’s war industry finds adequate countermeasures against the rocket-propelled „Shaheds“. As Flešas noted, it is a complex issue because you constantly have to think one step ahead.
„After all, the Russians also understand that we will now have such rocket interceptors and we will cover Kyiv. Yes, but they are now working on creating and building for the next iteration – these are already small, cheap cruise missiles,“ said S.Beskrestnov.
Specifically, it is about such air means as „Banderol“, „Dan T“, „Dan M“, „Gerbera 5“. „This is already another variant. These are no longer rocket-propelled „Shaheds“, but, of course, missiles. And their speed will reach 500, 600, 700, 750 km/h,“ he emphasized.
Thus, these missiles will cause new challenges related to active maneuvering. They will be able to fly at a very low altitude.
As Flešas clarified, according to intelligence data, the Russians ordered a quantity of such missiles equivalent to the number of rocket-propelled „Shaheds“.

„That is, the number there is roughly similar, and they will build for that. However, we also now need to think about this – what will happen in five months, because then the rocket interceptors will no longer work, since the speed there is even higher,“ said the expert.
In his opinion, to counter this upcoming threat, it is necessary to produce cheap Ukrainian missiles.
„Currently, we have five months, just half a year, to develop and produce our own cheap solid-fuel missiles that would help solve the problem of cheap Russian cruise missiles,“ emphasized Flešas.
