In the new LNK season, viewers will also see the return of the legendary project “Star Duets,” where K. Zvonkuvienė and her partner, radio show host R. Mikavičius, will compete for first place. For Katažina, this is a return to the project after ten years, as she participated here in 2016 together with choreographer Šarūnas Kirdeikis.

To the portal Žmonės.lt, K. Zvonkuvienė revealed that she is very happy with her decision to participate in the project.
“I have missed it and feel really nostalgic, uplifted, I was waiting for this project and I won’t hide that I have missed some kind of participation and maybe a bit of that excitement. Also, I myself, as Katažina, have returned to the project a bit different,” – the performer told Žmonės.lt.
Not only everyday life has changed in ten years
Recalling the past ten years, Katažina openly spoke about how much her daily life and personality have changed during this time.
“My status has changed, I became not only a wife but also a mother, I got more responsibilities, less free time, fewer regulations as I want, as it seems to me and as I would like. And those conditions started to be dictated by children, life, circumstances. Well, really a lot has changed. The show business itself has changed somewhat, the children have grown up, I have matured, I have gone through more than one stage both personally and creatively,” shared K. Zvonkuvienė.
The singer is open that returning to television screens required sacrifices, and to manage everything, she had to overcome herself, learn to set boundaries, and prioritize.
“I, let’s not hide it, am a fairly sensitive person and I can’t just drop everything because I have two children, one of whom needs special attention. And if I lived at the pace I am used to living, I simply wouldn’t be able to embrace everything. So I had to give up something. I’m not an influencer, but still, such offers come up, so I had to limit them, also meetings with friends, outings decreased, I had to limit my emotional resources so that more energy would remain for the project. I want to do it to the maximum because all this is temporary, so I want to make the most of that time, but in my case, it’s hardly possible to do everything perfectly everywhere – to be a good mother, wife, cook, performer, duet participant, friend, housekeeper, and influencer. Now I have learned to arrange those priorities wisely. Maybe it doesn’t always work, but after ten years, after the experience gained in life, I handle it a bit better,” smiled K. Zvonkuvienė to Žmonės.lt.
Sensitive reaction of the children
The famous singer did not hide that her children – Kornelija and Donatas – reacted sensitively to the fact that they will see their mother more often on television screens.
“I don’t know if Donatas fully understands or if it’s clear to him. But I already noticed that he misses me a lot because suddenly there was less mom at home. You had to see it when I came home after filming… After that, I allowed myself a little time to be with myself, calm down, and not go home immediately, so when I returned, you had to see that reaction and emotion. Everything is revealed by the eyes, his little smile, that state. Kornelija reacts loudly in her own way, and he subtly… He got emotional, teared up. Donatas doesn’t show his feelings as we are used to, but Kornelija is just very happy – she says mom, go, you will be on TV! It’s very important for her now to return to school and tell all her friends that here – mom will be shown on LNK, please watch!” laughed K. Zvonkuvienė.
When asked if the children dream of stepping onto the “Star Duets” stage together, Katažina revealed an unexpected wish of her daughter.
“No, they didn’t express such a desire, but we plan to shoot a music video, and at this point, she expressed a wish: ‘What about me? Won’t you film me? I would also like to.’ But as for the duets, at least for now, they haven’t mentioned anything. Maybe when they see it on TV,” said Katažina.
A new acquaintance grew into a beautiful connection
She revealed that she neither knew nor had heard of her partner in the project, R. Mikavičius, before, but already felt a warm connection during their first meeting.
“I didn’t know him, I had to google who he was. I can only say one thing, that I was very lucky. He is wonderful, we met for the first time, but it seemed like we had known each other for a hundred years because we just sat, drank coffee, and could have talked for many more hours because there were really many topics. And it wasn’t always just about the duet, just some life, work, family, vacation discussions.
And what he showed during those few shows and meetings is really a huge progress and proof that when a person wants, he fully engages. For me, a perfectionist, a hard worker who likes to meet, do, talk, it’s hard when someone stops or doesn’t pick up the phone, doesn’t answer, doesn’t react, can’t always, it’s never possible to agree on a common time, it’s difficult, but he can always, adapts, comes to the house when we need to rehearse, we even rehearse outside while the kids swim in the pool. This says a lot about a person,” Katažina did not spare kind words for her colleague.
Although it is no secret that working with a partner can lead to arguments, according to K. Zvonkuvienė, she can hardly imagine that in this duet.
“I think it will be hard for us to quarrel. We are a bit adaptable. If he wants to express his opinion, I see how he doesn’t want to offend me, he somehow carefully skirts it: ‘Aha, what do you think? Maybe? How… do you like it?’ But I say: ‘Look, the most important thing is to talk. If you agree with everything, then you don’t have to do this either.’ So he tries very carefully to express his opinion and communicate – just like me. We are both very sensitive people, quite self-critical, and because of that, I don’t really believe it’s possible to get angry,” said the performer.
Zvonkus does not get jealous
Many, hearing such compliments to the stage partner, might think that Katažina’s husband D. Zvonkus might get jealous, but the singer insists that this is definitely not the case.
“Oh God, Deivydas is already a very experienced person, he is actually very happy, he knows what I am like and it is very important to him that the person next to me is a like-minded person, with whom it is easy to do something, flexible, friendly, one of us. For me, those human factors mean a lot.
We are both mature people and we know that television sometimes requires sacrifice in terms of time, sometimes you have to hold hands, hug, but I think the main thing we have with Deivydas is trust in each other. We also met the wonderful wife of Richard, laughed together, I said that now you might see him less, but it’s necessary. So everything is very positive, it’s nice that there is no need to explain anything to anyone and that makes it easier for me. Because yes, there are various other partners, it’s a fact that it can be difficult for others,” shared Katažina with Žmonės.lt.
Speaking about her husband’s criticism, Katažina does not hide that although her husband’s remarks sometimes hurt her sensitive heart, she always listens to them.
“Over all these years, with all the projects, I have definitely learned to accept all this. But I won’t hide, sometimes I react very sensitively. But after digesting it, spending the next morning, I understand – yes, he was right, because he does all this not out of bad will or to offend, he himself sees that I want to grow, want to try myself somewhere, get out of the comfort zone, so he allows me to do that, but at the same time he has full right as a music producer, husband, and professional in his field to say such things,” Katažina told Žmonės.lt.
The performer openly admits that in the past such lessons caused much more emotions.
“He criticizes more diplomatically, maybe it was different before when we were together for a shorter time. Or maybe I took it that way because I was even more sensitive. It seemed to me that he said something a bit more strictly, although he didn’t think so. Probably, he was right. But he took into account my remarks and my request to approach criticism more subtly. And now I react differently to everything myself, so I say – the most important thing is that you tell me. Maybe sometimes I just don’t want to hear and talk about it at that moment. Then I say – let’s talk tomorrow,” shared the performer.
A promise to the “Star Duets” viewers
When asked what kind of performances viewers can expect from the new season of the LNK project “Star Duet,” Katažina was open.
“We won’t ride on the horse that we are sensitive, so now every performance of ours will go through feelings or if dramatic, then all performances will be like that. We really don’t want to be boring, monotonous, we want to try ourselves in various roles, styles, maybe even languages. The most important thing is that we want to be faithful, sincere to what we do. And not to forget that we need not only to work intensively but also to enjoy it,” K. Zvonkuvienė concluded the conversation with Žmonės.lt.
