E. Skrebė has many years of experience in managerial work and legal activities in the fields of environmental protection and state administration. Before becoming the head of the Environmental Protection Department, he led the Vilnius Environmental Protection Division of the Vilnius Board of this department. E. Skrebė has also headed the Legal and Control Division of the Lithuanian Geological Service under the Ministry of Environment and served as the head of the Vilnius Board of the Environmental Protection Department.

E. Skrebė gained legal work experience working as a civil servant in the Chancellery of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a lawyer’s assistant in the Lithuanian Bar, and earlier – in private sector companies, where he held managerial and leadership positions.
E. Skrebė has also worked as a specialist in a scientific project at the Faculty of Philosophy of Vilnius University.

The new head of the Department holds two master’s degrees – he completed a master’s degree in law at Vilnius University and earned a master’s degree in philosophy with honors at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. From 2019 to 2022, he studied in the doctoral program at the Faculty of Philosophy of Vilnius University.
Edgaras Skrebė, who won the competition, will replace the acting director of the Department, Eglė Paužuolienė.
