The statement appeared amid renewed hostilities between the US and Iran, and after President Donald Trump’s Monday statement that the United States is “taking over” the Strait of Hormuz.

“We are taking over the strait. They have nothing. They have nothing,” Trump said in an interview on “Fox and Friends,” where he also complained about the tactics of Iranian negotiators and claimed they were trying to change what was agreed “yesterday” during negotiations that lasted more than an hour.
Trump also stated that the United States will be paid for protecting the Strait of Hormuz.
A representative of Iran’s central military command “Khatam al-Anbiya” said in a video message that Tehran “under no circumstances will allow (…) the United States to interfere in the (Strait of Hormuz) management,” and warned the countries of the Persian Gulf region that any cooperation with the US will be considered an “act of war.”
