The minister noted that currently part of such services are provided by the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, and the other part by the Ministry of Health.

“A unified system, where a person will finally receive care on a ‘one-stop-shop’ principle. Now we have social services for the elderly (people – BNS) from two parts – one part is under the Ministry of Health, the other under the Ministry of Social Security. We are now finishing arranging a plan where the system will be unified. For a long time, no one dared to approach this issue because it is a complex matter related to financial resources,” I. Ruginienė told journalists on Wednesday.
“I am very glad that with the current minister we have such a positive attitude and I hope that we will be able to come in the autumn with a draft law,” the minister added.
