FIFA officially announced on Monday the farewell to K. Lamour and thanked him for the two years spent in the organization.

The statement distributed to FIFA employees states that the separation was “by mutual agreement”.
However, the Frenchman K. Lamour recently criticized FIFA President G. Infantino’s plans, which he ultimately did not implement after facing strong opposition from UEFA and other confederations.
K. Lamour then said that the FIFA administration was “deceived” about the project and “urged political football leaders to ask themselves the right questions and take the necessary decisions”.

He also said that the FIFA president should “gather, unite and inspire people, but now he does the opposite”.
“If this means I will lose my job – so be it. I will understand and respect this decision. At least I will be able to sleep peacefully at night,” said the Frenchman.
