Already on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, a crowd of the girl’s relatives and friends flocked to the funeral home on Olandų Street. The mayor of Vilnius city, Valdas Benkunskas, and the mayor of Vilnius district, Robertas Duchnevičius, also came to pay their last respects. They were the ones who had personally awarded this exceptionally talented graduate earlier for achieving five perfect scores in the national maturity exams.

The deceased’s urn was surrounded by a sea of white and pink roses and small light flowers, with candles burning nearby. The entire farewell space was filled with flowers, testifying to the immense love of those around. After saying the last words, the mourners sent Anastasia on her final journey.

The gathered were united not only by endless pain but also by bright memories of a talented young woman who had achieved much and had great plans for the future.
Many attendees fulfilled the sensitive request of the girl’s father – they brought pink flowers to the ceremony. Before the funeral, relatives mentioned that this shade was the most beautiful and favorite for Anastasia.
There was also another symbolic accent near Anastasia’s urn – a plush duck.
“She was a mother of ducks. Since that birthday when her aunt Asta gave her the first spotted duck. A white duck with green spots. Since then, her duck collection only grew, the ducks rode in toy cars, bathed, lived together with her in her life games. We talked about the fact that when we have more time, we will raise ducks and then she will be a real mother of ducks. We didn’t make it,” her father Giedrius Kaukas wrote on Facebook a few days ago.
The farewell ceremony took place on July 28, Tuesday, at the Vilnius funeral home “Ritualas”.
We remind that in Vilnius district, in the village of Ažulaukė, on July 23, an accident occurred in which a young driver was injured and died the same day, the Police Department reported. It turned out that the deceased was an exceptionally talented student, returning home after receiving an award for five perfect scores in the maturity exams.
At about 14:30, a BMW 116 car, driven by a girl born in 2007, overtaking a Ford Galaxy car, entered the opposite traffic lane and collided with an oncoming MAN TGA 26.350 truck and hit the Ford Galaxy car.
The BMW driver was injured in the traffic accident and died from her injuries at about 16:15 in the ambulance.
