The accident occurred at the 34th kilometer of the Klaipėda-Kaunas-Vilnius highway, within the boundaries of Žemgulių village (about 18 kilometers east of Gargždai).

A reportable traffic incident was recorded in the Klaipėda district on Wednesday evening (August 5).
At about 17:01, firefighters from the Gargždai Fire and Rescue Service were called to the main Lithuanian highway.
A report was received that a “Cupra,” driven by a 39-year-old man, crashed into a road workers’ vehicle.
It was stated that smoke was coming from the car, and a person was lying on the roadway of the highway.
Before the firefighters arrived, the road workers themselves lifted the injured driver out of the “Cupra.”
Upon arrival at the accident site, coolant was steaming from the car.
