According to the data, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted for possible illegal cannabis cultivation and illegal possession of a very large quantity of drugs. Four individuals have been charged in the investigation.

During this investigation, Telšiai police detectives conducted searches on July 23 at the residences and frequented places of the suspects.
During one of the searches, in a farmhouse in the Varnių eldership, in the attic of the house, officers found what is suspected to be a cannabis cultivation laboratory.
During the search, a very large quantity of cannabis and its parts, kept in vacuum packages and sealed aluminum containers, was found and seized. Also found were cannabis plants separated from the roots, scales, mobile phones, and equipment used for cannabis cultivation.
In addition, officers found and seized more than 40 thousand euros in cash, four motorcycles, possibly acquired with funds obtained from criminal activity, a crossbow with arrows, and 12-gauge ammunition.
Possession of a very large quantity of drugs is punishable by imprisonment from ten to 15 years under the Criminal Code.
