As usual, the scale of short-term registrations last month was small: 5 newly registered cars (of which 2 were Land Rovers) were deregistered by the end of the month, and another 10 will be deregistered soon.
In May, personal car (M1) registrations increased by 18.4% to 4,845 units, while the volume of light commercial vehicles (N1) increased by only 0.5% to 393 units.
Speaking about individual working days, the most successful was May 20, when 320 cars were registered, and the worst was May 4, when 143 cars were registered.
Last month, the Lithuanian new car market was led by the Toyota brand (1,232 units), followed by Volkswagen (820), and third was Skoda (755).
Among premium brands, Audi led (185 units).
In May, among personal use (M1) models, the most popular were Toyota RAV4 (352 units), Volkswagen T-Roc (299), and Skoda Octavia (291). Among light commercial vehicles (N1), Citroen Berlingo (86 units) and Toyota Proace City (49) led.

Last month, 338 true electric vehicles (EV) were registered, which is 44.4% more than a year ago. The most popular model was Tesla Model Y (40 units). In May 2025, 234 electric vehicles were registered.
From January to May 2026, a total of 20,858 new passenger cars were registered in Lithuania, i.e. 11.7% more than in the same period last year (18,668).
This year, 1,495 electric vehicles have been registered, i.e. 56.1% more than in the same period last year (958). Their market share increased from 5.1% to 7.2% over the year.
Last month, the compact electric SUV Subaru Uncharted debuted in Lithuania.
